Born on 15/07/1984 in Derbent (Caucus Mountains).
At age 9 he immigrated to Israel with his family and settled in Ofakim.
Zohar drafted to the IDF in December 2002, completed basic training in the Uvda Combat Engineering training base, took border patrol in Ramallah and finally completed Commanders Course. He was assigned to the Counter Tunnelling Team in the 643rd Regional Division near the Gaza Strip.
Zohar was killed in action on 12/05/2004 together with his Commanding Officer Captain Aviv Hakani, his friend Staff Sergeant Lior Vishinski, as well as Master Sergeant Amin Gadir and Sergeant Elad Cohen, close to the Philadelphi route near the Gazan border town of Rafiach.
Buried in Ofakim aged 20.
Staff Sergeant Zohar is survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
