Born on 24/07/1970 in Johannesburg South Africa.
Asher drafted to the Navy Clearance Divers in 1988. Due to a medical issue, he was forced to leave the unit and was reassigned to the Engineering Reconnaissance Unit “Sayeret Yael”.
During his Reserve service, Asher was assigned to the Combat Engineering Company of the Paratrooper Brigade. Two weeks after the breakout of the Second Lebanon War, Asher was drafted for immediate
Reserve Duty. His Company entered Lebanon on 08/08/2006 with Kfar Reshef (Reshef Village) in South Lebanon as its objective.
Asher was killed on 09/08/2006 in Kfar Debel after two anti-tank missiles hit the building in which he was located along with eight of his comrades.
Buried in the Ma’ale Gamla Military Cemetery aged 36.
Master Sergeant Asher is survived by his wife and two children, his mother and sister.
