Born on 13/08/1964 in Beer Sheva.

Shani drafted to the IDF in October 1982.  He had a love of Israel and a desire to draft to a place that would challenge him, leading Shani to draft to the elite Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit.

​

He was killed in line of duty while undertaking an ordinance disposal mission in Bikat Hasayarim near Eilat.

Buried in the Beer Sheva Military Cemetery aged 21.

Staff Sergeant Shani is survived by his parents and a brother.
